Tom Simpson Peugeot Jersey

Size Guide

After their reign as world champion is over ex-title holders are entitled to have the rainbow stripes on the collar and cuffs of their team jerseys. We believe this tradition was started by Tom Simpson. He was road race world champion in 1965, and in June 1967, just weeks before his death, Simpson started racing in a Peugeot team jersey with rainbow strips on the collar and cuffs. We can’t find any photographic evidence of any ex-world champion doing this before Simpson. This Peugeot jersey is a replica of the one Simpson wore.

Our retro team jerseys are handmade in our Italian factory using the very best technical fabrics. Featuring a set-in sleeve with 4cm silicone gripper cuffs, they deliver a classic fit with a consistent stretch to ensure full freedom of movement.

With an array of details – including silicone grippers, reflective detailing, three rear cargo pockets plus a 4th coin zip pocket – our jerseys are perfect for looking the part at a vintage cycling festival, or just out for an all-day ride in the sunshine.
