The Mavic COMETE 55 carbon wheelset blends advanced aerodynamics with ultra-light construction and exceptional rolling efficiency. The 55mm rim depth delivers low-drag performance with confident, precise handling, with the perfect balance of lightweight for ultimate responsiveness aero efficiency.
Thanks to Adaptive Layup carbon technology and aero carbon spokes, this wheelset feels lively under acceleration and efficient at speed. Years of wind tunnel development and real-world testing have led to a new generation of Aero Wide rims, optimised for 30mm tyres.
The result: a wheel that is not only faster in all wind conditions, but also lighter, more reactive, and easier to accelerate, from flat roads to steep climbs and technical descents. This 55/55 combo is the most versatile option from Mavic's three Comete rim depths.

The Adaptive Layup structure combines T700, T1000 and 3K fibres for the ideal balance of stiffness and dynamic behaviour, while 21 flat carbon spokes transmit every watt without loss and absorb road vibration for improved comfort and control. Every acceleration is more direct. Every trajectory more precise.
Mavic Ceramic bearings with ultimate control
Each component is validated on in-house machines capable of 57 different tests before a second round confirms the performance of the fully assembled wheel. Every detail of the hub has been redesigned for marginal gains: 40-tooth ratchets, optimised freewheeling spring, Mavic ceramic bearings, a more aerodynamic hub shell, lighter hub bodies and Locked-In Spoke Heads to stabilise spoke tension over time.
