I've actually worn this great looking wool jersey by Santini created in 2010 far more off-the-bike with jeans/trainers than on the bike.
Our idea was to create a limited edition Maglia Nera jersey exclusively for Prendas Ciclismo to compliment the 70th-anniversary pink jersey, as we felt that black would have a stronger commercial appeal. It proved to be correct, with the Maglia Nera easily outselling the pink version.
Santini subsequently has created a Maglia Nera to their collections most years to celebrate the Giro D'Italia and for 2018 we have the very latest Maglia Nera collection.
Prendas also sold the pink version of this jersey that was limited worldwide to 500 pieces - my own personal jersey is number 125 out of 500.
This Mercatone Uno Bianchi 1998 Jersey is a replica made by Santini of the jersey worn by Marco Pantani in the greatest year of his career - winning both the Giro D'Itali and Tour de France in 1998.
