Product Description

Back in 2009, Rocket Espresso produced a limited edition "Giro d'Italia Cento Anni" domestic coffee machine.

Only 100 were produced (ALL OF WHICH HAVE LONG SOLD OUT) and it was a "must have" for Prendas as it was a thing of beauty and we have long been associated with all things Giro and Santini of Bergamo, the current manufacturer of the Giro D'Italia leader jerseys. Rapha must have also had the same thought as they also own one of these machines.

Mick's quest for this beautiful machine brought him into contact with Andrew Meo, a New Zealander and keen cyclist who is a partner at Rocket Espresso of Milano. Mick's many trips to Italia resulted in many lunches with Andrew and cycling was always high on the list of things to discuss.

Andrew is a keen racing cyclist himself and although he is too modest to brag about it, he is currently a regional and national champion in his age group which is no mean feat in the world of Italian amateur cycle racing as it is extremely competitive at every level. His son Felix is also showing promise on the track and the road.

There is a strong affinity between cyclists and coffee and this is very evident in the growth of cycling cafe culture in the UK. Fast forward to February 2014 and a visit to Rocket Espresso and the inevitable lunch resulted in Mick approaching Andrew about a collaboration with Rocket Espresso on a cycle jersey bearing the name of this esteemed manufacturer. This was not a business meeting by any means but a relaxed affair that gradually came to fruition with the help of Fergus at Santini and now "ecco qua", here is the result.

Like I said, there was now real structure to the financial arrangement and it was an organic process. Andrew was happy to let Prendas do the sales and he would take a few jerseys for himself, his son and cycling friends and associates. With regard to commission he was happy to make a donation to a worthy cause. We floated the idea of the David Rayner Fund which he thoroughly approved of wholeheartedly.

Hence, we will now donate £10.00 (GB Pounds) to the David Rayner Fund for every Rocket Espresso jersey sold which is every bit as beautiful as the espresso machines that they produce.

The donation is a result of Rocket waiving a royalty charge for using the name and a donation from Prendas as we are already involved as a supporter with the Dave Rayner Fund cotton cycling cap.

Size Guide

This size guide is here to help you get the right size Santini jersey to fit correctly.

Please Note:These jerseys fit a little smaller than a usual Santini jersey so you may wish to order one size bigger! This is due to the fact that the way the zip is covered uses up some of the fabric, making the jersey smaller by approximately 2cm in width.

"Harry" the mannequin (which the vast majority of our product photographs are taken on and is then subsequently removed in Photoshop!) wears a size XL and measures: chest 39"/ 99cm, height 6`0"/ 183cm.

Just in from my first ride in this Santini jersey. Being a larger than average cyclist it was great to find a jersey in 8XL - that actually was 8XL !!! I'm 6'2" weigh 130kg and have a 54" chest so buying a jersey is a challenge, usually end up with an MTB Freeride jersey. Great to finally be able to get a proper Roadie jersey Great support from PC prior to my purchase by the way. Cheers Prendas - Chapeau!! (Posted on 23/08/2016)

Wasn't quite sure what to expect whenever I ordered this jersey, but after I opened to shipping package a few things jumped out. Very nice bag that jersey was in. Have never seen that. Jersey was high quality and very well made. Fits very well. Just have to get use to the Euro zipper on the opposite side. Bib shorts are next. Thanks Prendas!! (Posted on 23/03/2016)

A really nice modern styled jersey. Good quality and plenty of features. The full zip is nice and the usual well positioned pockets. This has to be my new favourite top. The Prendas service, as always, first class. (Posted on 20/04/2015)

Got to love the super-stylish “pro-team association without looking like a pro-team wanna-be” aesthetic of the Rocket jersey. Insiders will know that you are up to speed with the peloton’s preference when it comes to espresso machines – everyone else will just think it’s a great jersey. Full-zip front, three roomy pockets on the rear, great fit and good looks make this jersey close to perfect. Close – but no cigar, because that goes to the shorts! (Posted on 01/12/2014)
