We've been in the bike business for a while
, and whilst blogs tend to come and go (the thewashingmachinepost.net
being an exception) a blog we have been keen readers
of since it started back in Feb 2010 is the The Inner Ring (inrng.com)
At the time, cyclingnews.com was seen as the most important source of pro cycling information but since then with the tremendous growth of twitter
and wordpress blogs, the Inner Ring has built a loyal readership of long term and knowledgeable supporters of the sport.
Whilst the Inner Ring is quick to point out that it doesn't take too much time to keep up and running
, we are still amazed at the accuracy and the timeliness of the information
contained on the blog and also on the highly informative twitter feed
. Just look at this recent article on Team Sky's finances
- it's fascinating stuff!
Saying that - it still gives us a warm feeling when once a year he posted up his "I'm on holiday" notice.
Last year, we sponsored the blog during the period of the Vuetla and World Championships
which we will repeat again in 2014. Given some of the stars that didn't start or crashed out of the Tour de France, the last chance saloon
Grand Tour this year should make some interesting viewing.
If you didn't know, the name of the blog is because of the “inner” or “insider” connotations and also because “inner ring” means the smaller chainring on a bike in English.
As you may have seen with our collaboration with the Dave Rayner Fund Supporters cap
, once again we will allocate a proportion of the proceeds of the sales from these caps to help support the excellent work of the The Inner Ring (inrng.com)
