These oversocks then are made from Meraklon, a material which is both lightweight and has thermal properties. Slipping them on is easy, with a hole that fits around the cleat and a small hole at the heel to hook them in place. We didn't experience them slipping down or interfering with the cleats/pedals, and we've not suffered from cold toes since using them - which is nice.
