Issue 3 - EuroBike 2007, Deutschland

05/09/2007

After our inugural one-day visit to EuroBike last year, this time we decided that given the number of halls and exhibitors, maybe dedicating more than a day would be best!

So, after a surprisingly plesant drive to London Stansted, we managed to pass all security checks (picturing the classic sequence in the Airplane movie) and boarded a shiny RyanAir Boeing 737-800.

Mick looks pleased with this years accommodation.

After the abysmal accommodation of last year, we booked B33 in “Hymer City”.

Most of our Italian suppliers thought we were joking when we told them we were staying in a caravan, but to anybody wishing to visit EuroBike next year, give it a go. At only 2 minutes walk, door to door, it certainly beats the hour long journeys other people had to endure.

Prendas with RVV winner Sgr Ballan.

It is always great to see many of our suppliers face-to-face, many of which we also consider good friends. We also had contact with a few new suppliers, which will see some exciting new lines introduced in late 2007 and early 2008. It’s a shame we can’t say anymore, but you will just have to be patient...

Prendas meet one of the fabulous CyclePassion Girls.

Friday night saw the annual bun-fight that is 5pm on the Continental Tyres stand with free Beer and pizza to all. As Conti are a supporter of the annual CyclePassion calendar, some of the girls featured are also on hand at the stand to dish out the beer.

2008 will be our third year selling the calendar, and meeting Miss July was certainly a highlight! The 2008 edition looks good to us and will be available to purchase in the next 2-3 weeks.

Prendas meet Stuart O'Grady, and found him to be a very nice chap indeed.

This year Descente joined the Prendas line up and whilst talking over the 2008 lines, it was great to meet Stuart O’Grady of Team CSC. His victory in Paris-Roubaix this year was incredible to watch, and when you meet him you cannot believe somebody so small won this race.

Back on his bike after a serious off in the Tour de France, the day before he had ridden a 45km coffee-stop ride for the first time since his accident. So good luck for 2008 Stuey!

If you fancy wearing the Tech T-Shirt that Stuey has on, we now have them available to buy!
